In 2020 the world stopped and so did access to my local gym and spa facilities, I was momentarily devastated. I set to work to mitigate against this and in doing so, considered, designed, engineered and developed the HotBox Sauna System. The objective was simple, I had a small space in my garden room, but the space was overused. The single space facilitated my boy-hood fantasies, and life dictates that you can have anything you want but cannot have it all. I beg to differ, and this space was my attempt at this. 

A folding weight cage, folding bike and folding rowing machine. A folding pool table stored on the wall collapsed. A telescope and stand all boxed and housed. A projector on the ceiling and screen that rolls out of its case down a wall opposite. A TV and media station for gaming and a desk, for work, that naturally also has removable legs and stores away, I built this myself of course! Did i mention the green-screen equipment for my business recordings?

Now, I wanted a sauna, it needed to fit into this set-up. There was space but for one boy hood fantasy at a time and this sauna could not break this rule. It needed to be efficient and effective, it needed to be situated in this limited space, it needed to dismantle and be reassembled at will. It needed to store. Finally, I realised that it was a little bit cramped, and considered how to make it larger without simply increasing the size of it within itself. I thought just add another one to the first.

Welcome to the HotBox Sauna System, a boyhood fantasy that fixed my problem and now aims to fix yours. Not because it is necessary, although the health benefits are there, no we do it because we can, and we work hard. We do it because we deserve it and because we have earned the right. We choose, it’s that time in life, you have an awkward space, we don’t care, you want PVC exterior or roof cover, internal use or external, we do not care.
